We’re excited to share with you the groundbreaking research study performed by Volt Active Data co-founder, Michael Stonebraker, OLTP Through the Looking Glass, and What We Found There. This study, conducted by Stonebraker and other industry luminaries, explores some of the earliest research into how OLTP systems could be deconstructed to enhance the overall performance of the database itself.
These findings became the foundation for Volt Active Data’s in-memory database technology.
Featuring detailed insights and performance analysis from Stonebraker and fellow colleagues, Stavros Harizopoulos (HP Labs), Daniel J. Abadi (Yale University) and Samuel Madden (MIT), this research study explores a number of additional topics, including:
- An overview of OLTP systems
- Alternative DBMS architectures
- Trends in OLTP systems
- And more
