Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance
Finance runs on decisions.
Volt Makes Decisions in Real Time.
A fraud decision after the transaction clears is the same as a wrong decision. A payment inconsistent under load costs you the reconciliation. Volt is the real-time decisioning layer that eliminates both.
The Challenge
When decisions are wrong, the cost is immediate
Financial institutions don’t lack data. They lack the ability to act on it at the moment it matters — inside the authorization window, before a transaction clears, before a limit is breached.
Fragmented stacks, delayed aggregations, and eventually-consistent state stores all contribute to the same problem: decisions arrive too late, or with inconsistent results under load. That gap is where fraud gets through, revenue leaks, and compliance breaks down.
Fraud isn’t detected too late, it’s decided too late
Detection without decision authority isn’t prevention. When the scoring engine fires after the transaction clears, the loss is already irrecoverable.
Real-time rails leave no room for slow state
FedNow and SEPA Instant are irrevocable. Your fraud and AML stack has seconds — sometimes less — to decide. Delayed aggregation is not an option.
Compliance pressure demands real-time system properties
DORA, MiFID II, FedNow, and Basel IV require deterministic, auditable outcomes at execution — not post-hoc batch reporting.
AI agents hallucinate when they query stale data
Agentic AI adds intelligence — but only when agents reason from authoritative current state. Most architectures give them yesterday’s warehouse data instead.
Four-component stacks leak at the consistency boundary
Cassandra + Redis + Kafka + Postgres distributes state across four systems. The gaps between them are where double charges, orphaned transactions, and reconciliation breaks live.
The Approach
One decisioning layer. Every critical financial system.
Volt sits between real-time signals and the systems that act on them. It ingests events from streaming platforms, maintains authoritative operational state, executes deterministic decision logic, and records outcomes atomically — all within the latency window that financial systems demand.
Decisions are not an emergent result of five processing hops across four systems. They are made in one place, against accurate current state, and available for immediate enforcement.
- Sub-10ms decision latency, ACID-guaranteed, under sustained load
- Hot-swap of rules and routing logic with no maintenance window
- Linear scale from 10k to 1M+ TPS without re-architecture
- Complete audit trail: what was decided, against what state, and why
why volt
Built for the Speed of Financial Decisions
Volt strengthens fraud controls, enables real-time rail compliance, and reduces the operational cost of fragmented state — without rearchitecting what already works.
Fraud Decisioning
Stop fraud at the moment of transaction. Volt provides the low-latency state and deterministic decision layer that turns detection into enforcement before a transaction clears.
Real-Time Payments
Process, validate, and settle on instant payment rails at sub-10ms with ACID consistency. Decision authority is established before settlement, not after.
Operational Intelligence for AI Agents
Volt exposes real-time authoritative state via MCP tools — structured APIs agents call during reasoning. Agents get current data, not stale warehouse snapshots.
Deterministic Rule Execution at Scale
Execute thousands of fraud and routing rules in a single database round trip. Hot-swap rules under live load with no maintenance window and no throughput penalty.
Compliance as a System Property
Turn MiFID II, DORA, and FedNow irrevocability into real-time system behaviours. Audit trails and enforcement happen at the point of action, not after the fact.
Linear Scale Without Re-architecture
From 10k to 1M+ TPS. Shared-nothing partitioning means the architecture does not change as volume grows. Behaviour under load matches behaviour in testing.
Agentic AI in financial services
Why Most FS AI Agents Fail at the Data Layer
Agentic AI can dramatically improve fraud detection, payments routing, and risk decisioning — but only when agents reason from authoritative current state, not stale warehouse data.

1. The hallucination problem is a data problem
Most FS agents query stale data warehouses via SQL. When an agent triggers a step-up auth based on state that changed five minutes ago, the downstream consequence is immediate and often irreversible. Volt exposes real-time operational state via MCP tools — structured APIs that agents call during reasoning. The agent gets authoritative current data, not an approximation.
2. A recommendation is not a decision
An agent that outputs “block this transaction” has not made a decision. The decision must be made against complete current state, applied deterministically, recorded atomically, and immediately enforceable. Volt applies deterministic evaluation to agent recommendations so probabilistic AI never directly controls a mission-critical outcome.
3. Explainability is not optional in FS
Regulators need to know exactly what happened: what data did the agent query, what did it recommend, what was the final call, and why. Volt captures the complete interaction chain — agent queries, Volt responses, recommendations, and decisions — in a single auditable record that flows directly into retraining pipelines.
